This morning we were taken on a tour of the village but only managed half due to the size of the campus. On the tour we were shown the aspects of the school and children’s homes we would be working on during our 8 day stay.
This included the knocking though of a wall in the older boy’s home in order to extend the bedroom of the 19 boys, and the fencing to be started to prevent the cattle eating the crops in the night. Both of these projects were started today.
After lunch practice started for the “Planets” competition – the secondary schools’ community cup equivalent, the difference being that the Planets teams are competing for parts of a cow. The Lander2Uganda team were invited to take part with each group joining a Planet and the Ugandans teaching us a routine, and us returning the favour. The final competition will be held on Thursday.
Due to the poor mobile signal strength, posts from Kamuzinda will be sporadic.
